Han is the Man: A Guest Post By Savanna

Hey everyone!! My name is Savanna, you may know me as Cad Bane's chick from Pandas, Lightsabers and Cameras, oh my!! Jedi~Chick asked me to do a couple guest posts while she's working on her NaNoWriMo novel.

If you are a Lakehouse girl, you'll know that I definitely prefer Han Solo over Luke Skywalker. I've titled myself a "Hangirl" (Han + fangirl). I think that Jedi~Chick posts too much about Luke's awesomeness on here so, I'm going to write about Han Solo in this very epic post. Also, be prepared for tons of Han pictures.

First off, we must address Han's hotness. C'mon people, let's face the fact that Harrison Ford was pretty good looking in his younger years. I'm not going to elaborate on this, you get the point. I also love how his hair is always perfect with his shirt tucked in, while still being a scoundrel. That gun holster is completely rad too. Not to mention, he doesn't look too bad when encased in carbonite either. Han's smirks, sarcasm, and witty comments are all included in "hotness". 

The scene in The Empire Strikes Back is also a fangirl favorite. Plus, you don't even have to be a Hangirl to love it. Yes, you know which scene I'm talking about- "I love you.""I know." Ahhhh!! My heart melts just thinking about it. When you think about it, he instantly wins the battle over Luke in the "romance" category. I mean, at least Han didn't smooch with his own sister. Ewwww!! In my book, Han and Leia are officially the cutest couple ever.

Secondly, he's captain of the Millennium Falcon. Excuse me? Never heard of her?! Shut up. It made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs. 

Thirdly, let's address his best friends- Chewbacca and Lando. Everyone can admit that Chewie is overly adorable, even though we can't understand a word he says. His weird roaring noises and walking carpet appearance are the epitome of cuteness. Then there's Lando...pretty much the coolest guy in the galaxy. He's got a rad mustache, nice grin, and a cape!! Anyone with a cape is automatically freaking awesome (I mean, just look at Darth Vader). Both Chewie and Lando compliment Han's perfectness and round him off as a pretty cool guy. 

In conclusion, Luke is pretty much a whiny/wimpy farmboy with a stupid haircut and hot sister. He's not terrible but definitely doesn't match up to the one and only, Han Solo.

Oh, and I don't care what the special edition says...Han shot first. Don't you ever forget that.

Word Wars, Halloween Update and Christmas....OH MY!

What a wordy title, huh?  

Well....Halloween was epic.  I got more candy than ever before and am going to have rotten teeth and fat thighs if this chocolate-must-eat-more phase keeps up.  :P

That was after we organized and began the 'great candy trade' at my grandma's house.

I dressed up as Mara Jade, my sister was Rapunzel, and Chibi was a Pirate. ;)

It was a very good Halloween.  Wanna know the best part?  

Well, Chibi and Nutmeg decided to go into the dreaded (by me) Haunted House.  While they were in there, the smart (cunning/evil) people who lived in the house had kids dressed all in black with the full face (can't see anything at all) masks, prowling the nearby houses.  So when my mom and I waited for my cousin and sister, (and dad), this kid who was slightly taller than me came up and pretty much got all up in my face, staring me down.  xD  I was like "Oh..um....Hi?"  XD

Chibi was trying to tell me something, and then she kinda got annoyed with the guy, so she came up behind him and pulled off his mask, completely ruining the effect.  XDDD  We all laughed SO KRIFFING HARD.  XDD  It was epic.  ;)  Highlight of my night actually.  

And she said to us later, "HE WAS UNMASKED BY THE LEGENDARY EMBER SPARKSTONE!!!!"  ;)  Tis true, he was quite defeated by her.  ;)  It was AWESOME.  XDD

Anyways, Word Wars....that was fun.  ;)  Amaranthine and I had a Word War this morning.  We took a half an hour and wrote as much as we could in that time, and then stopped at the same time.  ;)  I wrote 1,298 words!  :D  

I now have 4,300 words, and it's only my first day of NaNo!!!  I'm going to write some more very soon....write after this blog post.  ;) 

This will be my last post for a while....seeing that I am going to be quite busy with writing, and school too!  :)  

Cad Bane's Chick has agreed to guest post for me once or twice, and my mom is writing another guest post too!!! :)   I'll also post when it gets to be Thanksgiving time, since it's my favorite time of the year.  xD

What about Christmas you ask?  Well, it's the day after Halloween and my family has already started to crack out the Christmas stuff.  ;)  Halloween/Fall is going away, and Christmas/Winter is coming out.  Christmas music is being played, and lists are being written.  ;)

Guest Post by Mom...er....Leia Organa-Solo

Okay y'all, here's a new post for ya!!!!  This is actually written by my mom, as her 'alter ego' Princess Leia.  ;)  No joke, she SERIOUSLY THINKS that she is Princess Leia.  Er...she KNOWS she's Princess Leia.  She's short, loud and bossy...what more proof do you need?  (Just kidding Momma, I love you. ;) )  So enjoy, and share your thoughts!!!

Here are some thoughts as to my purpose and guiding principles for home-educating my children.  As told from my alter ego – Princess Leia Organa Solo.

 

 

You know I am a deep thinker, and for some reason I have the ability to see behind the curtain as to what is truly happening in our world once all the layers have been peeled away.  It is the fundamental battle of good verses evil.  It is the battle for the control of our very souls.  Our Creator is good and all good comes from the Creator.  Evil will continue to try to control all that is good, using all means necessary. Manipulation, control, greed, jealously, and contempt are tools of evil.  Knowing we are not perfect but are loved because our Creator is love is the fundamental essence of our lives.  We are to live in and manifest love because he first loved us.  That is the bottom line key to the universe. 

 

Now the reality is that living in this universe there is evil always trying to take us captive, destroy our lives, worlds, and our very existence.  What do we do?  What can we do?  How do you fight an enemy that seems to have so many willing supporters (I like to call them useful idiots), lies that seem to be truth, a media that does not question, and political leadership that can’t see past their pettiness and a shadow government that is controlling the outcomes from behind the curtains. 

 

I can’t believe, after fighting for freedom against tyranny once, we are right back where we were all those years ago.  How quickly people forget. The New Republic (our modern lifestyles and modern education system) has quite frankly made individuals complacent and ignorant.  Personal political powers have caused corruption and distrust of the government.   We have forgotten our original argument for the Rebel Alliance (freedom from tyranny) and the Republic (representative democracy).  We must get back to our core values of Liberty and Freedom and Individualism and Equal Justice.  We must learn our history and we must learn to connect the dots.

 

 

I personally believe my talents and time are wasted in an “administrative role” (anything other than homeschooling).  Getting bogged down in bureaucracy and status quo makes one’s senses dull and blind. As a senator, I was able to represent my homeworld with a clear set of values, traditions, liberty and equal justice. As Chief of State I was simply an over-glorified babysitter.  A role I cannot and will not do anymore.  I will go back to focusing on fighting for the Creator’s truth, freedom and justice. Starting with my home and the future, my children.  They will know that we are in a battle for our souls. They need to be nurtured, protected and armed with truth.  However, most importantly they need to know how to think and how to make connections.  They need to learn how to see with their ears and hear with their eyes.   They must know history in order to see the future.  They must be connected with their soul and our Creator.  They must see beyond their personal desires to that of our Creator.

 

 

We need take our education back to the classical times, where thoughts are debated and discussed and individuals can make their own connections based on truth and not on political agendas. They must learn the basics of arithmetic, writing and reading in order to put the Creator’s plan into practical action in their lives.  Educating at home seems meaningless or impractical or even crazy on the surface, but it is mandatory for the survival of our future, at least for our family.

 

And let me just make this comment about the Jedi of the Old Republic.  While I respect them, I do not agree with all of their teachings, such as no attachments, and that anger leads to the darkside, etc.  Just because you lose your temper or get frustrated every once in awhile, it does not mean you are going to become a Sith lord. If that were the case, I would have force choked just about everybody I know.  Sith are pure evil, when the soul is lost and the evil rots your core.  

 

Thankfully, my brother Luke and his wife have corrected some of those 'rules'. He and I believe we need to acknowledge our emotions. Knowing where the roots of our feelings come from and not try to suppress them, however learn from them to become better people. I also believe that personal attachments, especially with those we love make us stronger, not weaker.  We must know love binds us together and is what wins over evil.  We must strengthen them, know that we are better when we have people we love and who love us in our lives. 

 

I realize that this is an extremely long thought, but one that has been on my heart.  If I can reach out to my children and relate to them and teach them through a galaxy far, far away then I will.  I will meet my children where they are and find a way to connect with their souls.  It is my duty, responsibility and life calling.  So my dear children, math is important and we need to learn all that we can with the time we are given.  There is a greater purpose than just “doing school”.  We are learning to “live life with purpose”, His purpose.

FULLY TRUE TO THINE SELF

Intro: This is passage to fully elucidate a commoner on how to exponentiate a reasonable knowledge on how to be true to thine own self in way that will enlighten ones brain in a way that would be so called “awesome”.

I. Break out singing whenever possible at random times.

II.        Skip around your house whistling absolutely nothing.

III.      Invent random things in your mind or on paper that absolutely no one will know about!

IV.        Collect anything you desire!!!  Keep it in a box. A  shoebox.

V. Hang upside down and imagine what life would be like if you lived in an upside down world.

VI.         Brush all your stuffed animals daily.  They deserve care too!!

VII.      Draw as often as possible, even if you aren’t that good, because someday it might be the new style…..stick figures. 

VIII.    String a bunch of paperclips together and create an entire line of Paper Clip Jewelry. 

IX.         Do the sound effects for everything you do during the day.  In the car: VROOOOOOMMMMMM.  Trip and fall:  AHHHHHHH KERSPLAT.

X. Play outside in the rain, and pretend you’re a raindrop.

XI.        Whenever someone asks whether they have something on their face look horrified then say, “No, you’re good!” with a smile on your face.

XII.      Make things fit for fairies!

XIII.    Stare at someone intently until they ask what’s wrong.  Tell them: “You’ve got something on your head!!!” and look afraid. When they check and ask if they got it, walk away nonchalantly. 

XIV.      Whenever someone asks you a question tell them “ The voices require me to say no/yes.

XV.        Gather up your nerves and try to make some new imaginary friends.

XVI.      Force people to call you by your pirate name.

XVII.    Only respond to people who call you by your pirate name.

XVIII.  Put a temporary tattoo over your belly button and show it to all and every one who comes within ten feet of you.

XIX.      Watch a rerun of your favorite TV show, but mock everything that happens to the characters in it.

XX.        When in the shopping mall, start to search around for your family (even though they’re right next to you) and have an extremely lost look on your face.

If you do these things, you are guaranteed to be awesome.  And true thine own self.  

BE SMART!!!!  FOLLOW MY ADVICE!!!!!  Or you will be a loser.  So sad.  I KNOW!  I have done these things myself, so I know them to be true.  I wish you luck!  May the Force of the Pirate Ninjas be with you all!!!!!!!
