In Other News...

Friends!!! I am sorry for neglecting 2Thine for the past few days...I've been wanting to do a few posts, but I haven't gotten a chance to sit down and write at all recently!! :P  I suppose this will be a catch-up post, about everything with me and what I have in store for future blog posts!!!!

This blog has suddenly become quite inspirational...with all these popular posts!!  I'm glad that my writing seems to be appealing to you all!! :)


Anyway, I've just been really busy lately!!!  I have so many emails to get caught up on.....and papers to write for school and practicing to do on my viola.  It's a lot of work.  Plus writing tons of blog posts and other things!! :P  


My cousin had her confirmation over the weekend, and we had an awesome family dinner.  
I am now into My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.  It's awesome.  Seriously.  I am in love with it.  
I've been doing only a little bit of writing lately, and most of it is OC fanfiction/stories.  :D  I'm working on a new book! :)
I cleaned my room (it's a miracle) and there was more glitter on my floor than dirt/dust.  XD
I have issues.  Friend issues mostly, and others.  I'm giving up and giving it to God.  I'm tired of drama.
I love Dance Moms, I love drama that isn't my own.
Because of Dance Moms I am now giving my sister Dance Intensives.  I have learned that I make a pretty good dance teacher.  I pick it up from my job at our studio.  My sister hates me for being her tap teacher though, because Tap is what I'm most passionate about.  XD
I'm thinking of starting a business.  It's all in the works (my head), and I'd appreciate support/prayers.  I decided I want to be an entrepreneur.
My mom is such a fangirl.  Fate of the Jedi's last book (Apocalypse) comes out today, and she's waiting for it to go online at Midnight so she can buy it.  This coming from the woman who's bedtime is 8:30...this is a big deal.  We're going to read it together and fangirl and freak out over it tonight/tomorrow morning.  ;)  I'm excited.

The Duck Face

*sigh*  This is my latest pet peeve.  Note that this is more of a complaint/pondering post than it is an inspirational one...though I do have another one of those planned soon.  ;)

I also kind of hope this starts some kind of discussion. XD  Maybe you can back me up that I am not crazy in these thoughts.

The Duck Face.  I see this too much.  In my supposedly intermediate 2/advanced jazz dance class, I have grown quite weary with the lack of maturity and BRAIN CELLS in the girls there.  *shakes head sadly*

Last week, I was infuriated that four girls who were all giggly and excited that they arrived at dance class on time  were FIFTEEN MINUTES LATE because they went to the bathroom to take pictures of themselves to post on Facebook DURING CLASS.

Last class I saw the same thing.  They went to the bathroom to take pictures DURING CLASS.  My teacher left the room to talk to the other teacher about something, and immediately phones were broken out so they could pose in the dance mirror like TOTAL IDIOTS and take pictures.

I WAS CRACKING UP.  They looked SO STUPID!  Who thinks that this looks attractive.  Anyone?  Show of hands please?

Not to offend anyone.....but does that really look attractive?  To me, it looks immature and quite tacky.  I really despise it.

Does that look good?  Would I want anyone (other than you friends...since I am explaining my reasons fo this picture) seeing this?  I use my social-media sites for mainly work.  I run websites, blogs, and I promote them on Facebook and Twitter and such.  I would be very embarrassed if some of my friends or followers saw me looking like that, with captions like:
"OMG I look SoOoOoO cute rite?"  Seriously people...seriously.
(i'll also mention that in that picture I am having a very good hair day and I am wearing pajamas, (a tank top, I live in South FL) and it's not low cut, the picture is cropped since it was taken on my iPod. ;) Just clarifying that.)

To end this mini rant post, I propose a question.  Do you think the "Duck Face" or any of the above mentioned poses look good in pictures?  Do you take pictures like that?  Do you find it as annoying and stupid as I do? (no offense to those who do like it...I just can't see how it possibly makes anyone attractive.)  XD

11 Random Things About Me:

1.  I love sushi.  Only me and my dad do in our family, and everyone else thinks I'm crazy. xD

2.  I live about twenty minutes from the beach, but rarely go...which makes me sad, I love the beach. :(

3.  I am in love with Steve Rogers.  Love love love love.  Captain America is my favorite Avenger, and I love him  like crazy. <3

4.  My favorite Disney movie is Meet the Robinsons.  It's one of the most underrated Disney films out there. Which is sad, because it's amazing. :D

5.  I love literature.  I just had to read the Odyssey for school, and as much as I thought it was boring, I really enjoyed it. And I had a 6 hour conversation with my mom about it for our Literature Interpretation course. xD

6.  I know what S.H.I.E.L.D. from the Avengers movies stands for.  Yes, I have it memorized.  Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division.  ;)

7.  My least favorite subject in school has become Science.  I have fallen in love with literature and writing, but science and math are on the end of my list.  I just don't find them as interesting. :P

8.  I love homeschooling.  I think one of my favorite parts of homeschooling is the annual FPEA Homeschool convention.  I cannot WAIT to go to this year's convention...I love looking at all the curriculum, meeting people, and getting some time to hang at the EPIC hotel. ;D

9.  I have a horrible irrational fear of bugs.  I do not like them, and freak out easily when it comes to insects. xD  Once when I was little, I was playing outside, and a spider crawled on my face.  I screamed, sobbed and freaked out for the rest of that afternoon.  Me + Bugs = TOTAL FREAK OUT. XP

for the record, I absolutely do not like this movie. XDDD

10.  My guilty pleasure is watching Dance Moms.  I am addicted to this show...and I blame Amarantine for this obsession...;P  I plan on watching the latest episode tonight.  :D  Don't you judge me...I know it's stupid and demeaning, but I love it. XD LOL how hypocritical of me.....;P

11.  I'm sick right now.  XD  I have a stomach bug or food poisoning or something.  Yesterday/last night I felt TERRIBLE, and today I'm doing a bit better.  Last night I thought I was dying.....and now I feel much better. I can actually keep down food now, and hopefully I'll be alright.  Who needs comfort food? I have my laptop to help me feel better. ;)

1. What famous movies have you not seen yet but would like too?

Iron Man 2, Spider-Man 3, and the newest Batman movies.  As for famous /classic/ movies, I really want to see Out Of Africa, Casablanca and Sunset Boulevard. ;)

2. What is your opinion of Charlie Brown?

Classic.  Every single holiday we watch some Charlie Brown film without fail. ;) I'm looking forward to the Easter Beagle. :D

3. Which of your favorite books would you love to see made into a film and why?

Oooh.  Septimus Heap and Mysterious Benedict Society. Mysterious Benedict Society is just crying to be made into a movie, and Septimus Heap the same.  Too good of plots to NOT be made into Major Motion Pictures!!! :D

4. What is one of your favorite pass-times?

Swimming during the summer at my grandma's house.  Staying up and watching tons of movies with my cousin at the vacation house, and taking out annual "girls" trip to Disney. ;) 

5. What type of vehicle would you love to own, from any film, book or even from reality?

An X-Wing. Handsdown an X-Wing.  I'd also like a landspeeder and that cool car from Captain America...

6. What movie poster would you LOVE to own if you could have your pick?

Empire Strikes Back poster.   Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom poster.  Captain America poster. ;)

Yes, all three.  And when The Avengers comes out I DEFINITELY want that poster. ;)

7. What is a minor thing you’d like to see in your future spouse?

Blue eyes.  Not necessary, but I'd LOVE to have a husband with blue eyes. <333 ;)

8. What is your opinion of snakes?

"Snakes...why'd it have to be snakes..." ~Indiana Jones. ;)  I have a thing against snakes since having a terrible dream about them when I was little. I also hate them because my mom does. XD

9. What is a pet peeve you've discovered from being on the blogosphere?

When certain bloggers think they're above others because they have a billion followers.  Most of my favorite blogs only have about 15-50 followers. ;)

10. If you could dress up–without any difficulty or thought of cost–as any character, who would it be?

OOHH.  Real Jedi Robes so I could Cosplay Jedi Mara Jade-Skywalker.  I'd also like to do a totally SA (screen accurate...Savanna's brother Chase taught me that term), Rogue Squadron X-Wing Pilot costume, with a personally designed helmet that would be Fanfic Canon.  ;)  

11. Where would you like to go on vacation this year?

Disney World, Williamsburg Virginia, Orlando/where-i-was-last-weekend, and maybe Illinois, to visit family.  Also anywhere my internet besties live. ;D

Hi, I'm Socially Awkward.

*sighs* It's true.  I've been thinking about this a lot lately.  Most homeschoolers are labeled as "unsocialized".  It's true, some of us don't have as many friends (or enemies) as kids who go to public school, but as it's been pointed out by many people, both from the internet, in real life and in my immediate family (thank you Ember), homeschoolers have to actively seek out friendships, so they are naturally less shy than other people.

Ehhh.....I beg to differ.  The "seeking out friendships" part has been getting to me recently.  It's not that I don't like my friends, or don't have any friends...I do!  I have amazing friends!  Both in "real life" and on the internet.  I love my internet friends just as much as I do my "IRL" friends.  I just wish I was a little less weird sometimes.

I mean c'mon.  Look at me.  I'm a total geek who lives on the internet, has multiple relationships with multiple fictional characters, enjoys watching sappy movies as well as movies that would normally be classified as a "boy movie", a writer, a fan of country music, a dancer and I play viola.  How many of those sound normal to you?  (if you're my twin, don't say all of them, you do not count. XD)

Who is going to want to be friends with, talk to, or even acknowledge someone like that?  Someone who is usually too shy to even make eye contact with other people her age, but can talk to adults without a problem, and teach little kids even easier.  Someone who either stays to herself, awkwardly ignoring everyone, or is sitting by herself at the co-op lunch room because her mom was late to pick her up.  Someone like me.

I don't always come off as socially awkward, especially on the internet. In "real life"though.....I just can't handle being with other people my age.  Other teenagers who are either my age, younger than me, or older than me, I don't do well with.  If they're younger, they're usually incredibly immature and hard to keep good conversation with (this isn't judging all younger kids, just some.)  And older kids are usually far too cliquey, not wanting anyone or anything else inside their own private little circle of friends.  It's hard to meet new people if they don't even notice you exist.

Lately, my best friend (Maryanna) has been trying to get me interested in sitting with the other kids from our group at P.E.  This includes a few girls, a ton of guys, and a lot of awkward social tension on my end.  I can't seem to make the connection.  I am so much better off with younger kids, and adults.  My dad says it's normal for me to be awkward with other people my age...because I'm a teenager and at this point in time, everyone is growing and changing and it's not really our faults.  My mother, however, has zero sympathy for me, and accuses me of judging others.  I am judging.  Not mean judging, but you judge all the time.  If the chair is wet, you judge that it's not fit for you to sit in.  If there is no milk in the refrigerator, you judge that someone else drank it before you could.  (stupid analogies, but you get my point.)

I'm not judging cruelly, by looks, or even by the words people speak.  As my mother always says, Actions Speak Louder Than Words.  I will admit to judging by actions.  Is that person good at that sport?  Are they nice to the girls?  Are they nice to their friends?  Do they use bad language?  Are they polite?  Etc, etc, etc.  If the person has poor behavior, than it's my place in my own self to judge what I think about it, and what I should do associating with them.  Are they the kind of person that I should be hanging out with?

Now here is where I get confused.  Maryanna seems to be having trouble with being "invisible".  Especially around guys.  I honestly DO.NOT.CARE. if guys notice I exist.  Remembering my name now and then would be nice (HELLO I AM WEARING A NAMETAG!), but I don't want them to be giving me their undivided attention or anything like that.  When the right guy comes into my life, I'll be ready and waiting.  Until then, I don't mind being slightly invisible.

More than judging others, I judge myself.  I judge what others will look at. What a nerd I am, my clothes, my interests, my taste in music, my taste in movies, everything.
......

I like Star Wars, which is automatically assumed by the majority of the human race to be a nerdy thing to like.  The fact that I live, eat, breath, wear, share, quote, watch, am obsessed with Star Wars doesn't help that.  At all.

I am not even gonna say all the times that I've been mocked by my love of country music.  Apparently that's weird?  Wrong?  I don't see why....

Viola?  What's a viola?  Isn't it just a big violin?  What's the difference?  I'll show you the difference.

I write?  For FUN?  I talk about my writing?  I care more about characters than I do other people?  I am spaced out when playing sports because I'm thinking about my story?  What. A. Freak.

.....

I like Star Wars.  And Avengers.  I understand the comics, and the books, and the movies, and the games.  I can relate to boys and girls of all ages, and I have connected with people unlike any other.  It's an awesome feeling to be so excited by something and then meet someone who likes it just as much as you do.  I can talk to most grown men, having intellectual conversations with them, and even impress them with my knowledge.  I don't let my "geekiness" hold me back from being bold about my fandoms.  I'll wear my Captain America shirt in public, proudly and my Her Universe shirt with even more pride.  I am a fangirl!  Hear me roar!!!

Country music?  I LOVE country music!  I know all the words to most of all the songs!  I can sing Brad Paisley like a pro, and belt out Carrie Underwood extremely off key and no where near her amazing voice, but I do it with joy and with pride.  Luke Bryan, Josh Turner, Brad Paisley, The Band Perry, Rodney Atkins, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum.....these are my artists and bands.  Not Lady Gaga or Katy Perry, these people have good souls, good hearts for God, and they aren't afraid to show it.  :)

What's a Viola?  Only the best instrument ever!  It's unique, it's pitched lower than the violin!  It's deeper, richer and harder to play!  I have to dig into that thing....it's making me stronger.  I'm learning to play like a professional, so that someday, I might be one.  I can play Indiana Jones, Star Wars, ET, Superman and other themes in a heartbeat.  I am learning the classics, Handel, Beethoven, Dvorak, Mozart!  I am a violist, and I'm proud!

I write.  I write for FUN.  I LOVE to write. It is my passion!  I'm not ashamed!!!  It's the most thrilling feeling to get lost in your character's dialogue so much that 1000 words later you can go back and read your work with such excitement at what you've written.  I've written two novels.  TWO.  How many kids my age can say that?  Not many.  I weave tales all the time.  I have thoughts going through my brain too often about how much I love to read, and how i love to write, and how I just want to get back home to my computer so I can finish this chapter or finish this paragraph.  I'll stay up to the early hours of the morning, writing.  People asked at P.E. why I was so tired Thursday morning.  I told them that I was up until 3:30am.  "What?!?" they exclaim, "Doing what?!!" I respond with "Writing." and their confused expression is priceless.  ;)
I'm an author.  I love what I do.  I love to write, and I thank God for that gift every day.  I am proud.

Don't be afraid of being yourself!!!!!  To Thine Own Self Be True.
You are cool.  You are awesome.  You don't need anyone to tell you that but yourself.  God already knows it, so woman (or man) up and tell YOURSELF this!  Who cares what other people think?  I sure don't!!!  I am 100% fine with being a nerd/geek/loser/weirdo/dork.  I am!  I am happy with my "boy movies".  I'm happy with my "lame country-hick music".  I'm happy with my viola, with my dance, with my writing.  With my life.
I am happy.  I am fulfilled.  I am loved.

I don't need to be popular, or cool, or liked by other people my age.  I'm okay with my friends that I have.  With my best friends, Maryanna and my best friend/cousin Ember.  We'll be weird together.  I'm okay with my internet buddies....they understand me, and they care about me!  What else do I need?  A little human interaction here and there would be nice...but I am no where near concerned about being "socialized".  No, I don't like other people my age.  I still feel really weird, and problematic, and awkward, but I know in my heart, and in my soul that I am the Daughter of a King who is greater than ALL of that. He created me, to be me.  I shouldn't let anyone, ANYONE, hold me back from what my God has in store for me.

From the Eyes of a Writer

As a growing writer, I tend to see things differently than the average person.  I don't always notice that I do, but yet, it happens.
I find myself thinking of a story for something as small as a little flower growing as a weed in a flower garden, to a random person in the mall eating a cheeseburger.  It's a little weird, and quite funny.
I have bizarre hobbies too, like people-watching (AKA stalking, lol), and character discussing.  It's fun!

I can't watch movies the same way anymore.  I look at the deeper plot more than the special effects and acting.  I look into the background of the movie and the depth of the different characters. I can think of new plots and storylines and feelings of the characters.

I love it.  It makes for a good writer, to be able to come up with things on a whim like that.  I am constantly getting ideas in my head. I am constantly needing to write stuff down. Just ask my mom, many times a day I'll stop what I'm doing and run into my room to write down a story idea.  Many of them aren't developed (at all) and some of them are just fanfic ideas, but I still write them down, just for the sake of getting the idea out of my head.

I dont' think there's ever been a time where I HAVEN'T been writing a story in my head. Seriously!  I remember even when I was a little kid (my earliest "story" memory is probably from when I was six...) I'd walk around the perimeter of the playground at my school (this was before I was homeschooled, obviously) and just think of story ideas in my head. Back then, I called it my "Imaginary Friends". Now, I call them my "Characters".  ;)  See the difference?  I believe that all good writers once had imaginary friends.  I know I still do.  Their names are Luke Skywalker...Princess Leia....Han Solo.....Mara Jade......Corran Horn....etc.  ;)

AND STEVE ROGERS. (okay, i'm done now xD)

Seriously though....I was the queen of angst before it was cool.  I was always writing, coming up with, and thinking up very depressing or angsty romances, stories and ideas.  I was pretty pathetic actually.  (this may end up leading into a post about my social awkwardness that has risen to become a problem as of late...we'll see.)

In short, what I'd like for you to take away from this post is this: If you are a writer, and you see things differently too, that's okay.  Embrace it.  It just might be your future.  Everything happens for a reason, and ultimately, God doesn't make any junk. ;)

I'm not dead!!!!! :D  Hooray!!!  Yay for aliveness!!!

I have to apoligize....things have been crazy...I've been busy with school, Fangirls on Felucia, and more...that I have been neglecting good old To Thine Own Self Be True...;)  Even on her birthday!  :'(

So....

Happy Blogoversary to me!!!!!  It was technically on Friday....but I'm lazy.  XD

Well, onto a real post....
I have quite a few 'real posts' in the works....a bunch of movie reviews....an Avengers fangirl freak out review....and more.  But here I'll just do a little bit of all of that.

First, since I'm fresh out of ideas tonight, I'll just fill you in on my life (since it's all about me....no, I'm just kidding, it's all about Him. <3)  I just decided that I'll add pictures too.  ;) *all pictures are taken by me unless marked otherwise.*

So far....my life has consisted of school.  School is eating me alive it seems. I made a pact with mostly myself but also my parents to get my school work done, on time and to the best of my ability this week, or I suffer the consequences.  Every hour/day/etc. I don't do something is another hour/day/ect. I have without internet.  O.O
Scary, I know. So I better wise up and get my stuff done.....

After school comes Viola.  I am really honestly enjoying my viola.  I love to play, it makes me feel beautiful and confident when I can belt out a note or song really well. :) My teacher has been incredibly supportive and helpful...I learn something important and new every lesson.  It's an amazing feeling.
I've had a concert, and it went well.  I was one of 16 out of 51 people who was actually on time for the call-time.  ;)

School and Viola are pretty much all that I've got going for me....other than dance. ;D

I dance once a week, but when I do, I'm at the studio for 5 whole hours.  First I teach classes, and I absolutely love it.  My baby girls are absolutely adorable, and they really like me.  :)  It makes me feel needed and special. Haha!  I co-teach a class with the owner of the studio, and she pays me in free classes.  ;D  WOO!  

My one class that I take for myself is totally horrible and totally amazing for different reasons.  It's amazing because I LOVE my teacher...she's incredible.  She's the dance team teacher, and she works us HARD.  And she's the sweetest, coolest person ever!  :D  

The bad part is the other girls in the class.  Without trying to sound rude or uppity....I'm definitely the oldest one there, and along with my one friend, I'm the most mature.  :P  It's pretty bad....these are 12, 13 year olds who are having break ups, catfights, and gossiping like no tomorrow.  It's disgusting.  They wear NOTHING.  XD Literally.  I always wear pants or at least capri-work-out pants, and a t-shirt to dance, while these girls wear the tightest fitting tank tops imaginable with shorts that look more like underwear than anything.  My head is always aching by the time I leave my class....either that or my ears start to bleed from all the nonsense they speak of...and oh-so-loudly....*rolls eyes*  

I wish so desperately I was taking tap class (i'm taking jazz...the tap is way to late...) Tap is by far my favorite type of dance. ;D

Fangirls on Felucia has occupied a lot of my time.  Without Savanna riding my back to get the posts finished, I probably would turn FOF into this place! *cricket, cricket*

Seriously though, Fangirls on Felucia is running AWESOME.  It's been getting a lot of traffic and feedback, and I am loving every second of it.  Savanna, if and when you read this, I love you, and I'm having a blast working with you!!!!!!  We'll go far!  ;D
